UPS Field Service Technician – London and South of England
We are looking to strengthen our field tech team in the South of England with the addition of a UPS Technician.
Due to a strong order book and continued growth, we’re looking to further strengthen our team and recruit an experienced field technician in London and South of England.
We’re looking for multi-disciplined technicians with a good balance of Installation, Commissioning and Service experience or those with an installation/commissioning bias who are keen to further develop their service knowledge.

We install and maintain UPS manufactured by our parent company Riello Elettronica who provide product and technical assistance although most issues are handled by our knowledgeable team.

Our customer base includes many blue-chip and household brand names across sectors such as telecoms, banking, pharmaceutical, defence, healthcare, and others.
The Role
You can expect your days to involve traveling to various client sites carrying out installation, commissioning, planned/reactive maintenance, and site surveys. Once you’ve been trained on
our products, you will also take part in our callout rota.
Your work will vary day to day but will involve early mornings, some evenings, weekends and the
occasional overnight stays but you will usually be based from home.
Currently, the work is split roughly 60:40 Projects to Service work. Projects work involves the installation of new equipment, and commissioning, and replacement of end-of-life products. Service work is primarily planned/preventative maintenance along with remedial and repairs.
Full product training is provided and is made up of occasional training courses at our HQ and on-the-job training delivered by a Senior Technician.
The Person
You will be an enthusiastic self-starter with plenty of energy and an appetite for learning. You will thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. A good level of physical fitness is important as some days can be quite demanding but you will also have the knowledge and skills to think your way around problems.
Long days and unusual hours are often needed so you will have the stamina and flexibility to cope.
Safety is key, so you will have a strong knowledge of general and electrical safety. Good attention to detail is essential as mistakes can be costly and impact our reputation.
You will need to be well presented, punctual, and organised – you are the face of the business! Good clear communication skills are also required as you will be liaising with clients and other trades on a daily basis.
You will be able to carry out electrical installation tasks to a good standard and you must be able to read technical drawings, schematics, and the like.
Desirable Qualifications
- BTEC or ONC / HNC in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
and/or
- NVQ Level 3/Apprenticeship in Electrical installation or similar.
- City and Guilds 2391/2394/2395 desirable.
Full UK Driving License

Market rates according to experience (37.5hr week)
Excellent overtime rates with home to home pay (all travel at full rate/overtime)
31 days holiday (23 + Bank Holidays)
£2500 pa on-call retainer for 1 week in 5 Rota (once sufficiently trained)
